Determines whether the specified member shares its metadata definition with this member.

Parameters

candidate IVirtualTypeMember: The member to compare, typically a member of the generic type definition of this member's declaring type.

Returns

bool?: true if candidate has the same metadata definition as this member; false if it does not; or null if candidate does not expose the reflection information needed to decide.

Remarks

A member of a constructed generic type and the corresponding member of its generic type definition share the same metadata definition. Their signatures cannot be compared directly, because the type arguments of the constructed type replace the type parameters wherever they appear in the signature, including within other constructed types such as IEnumerable<T>.
